Thematic Spring School 2025: “Molecular and Translational Research in Oncology”
From May 14–17, 2025, the second edition of the thematic school took place in Poznań, organized as part of the educational program of the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine at the Medical University of Łódź. This year’s Spring School was held under the theme “Molecular and Translational Research in Oncology”, focusing on modern technologies used in contemporary molecular medicine.
The event was organized by partners of the agreement: the International Institute of Molecular Oncology, represented by Prof. Maciej Wiznerowicz, and the Greater Poland Cancer Center, represented by Prof. Wiktoria Suchorska.
The event’s program was rich and diverse, featuring lectures, seminars, and workshops conducted by renowned experts from Poland and abroad. Participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge in areas such as flow cytometry, tumor proteogenomics, cancer genetics and epigenetics, and immunological mechanisms involved in tumor development.
A particularly important part of the program was the first public reporting session of the Doctoral School’s PhD students, during which research projects and the results of ongoing work were presented. The presentations covered a wide range of topics – from studies on pediatric gliomas and the analysis of epigenetic changes in cervical cancer to in vitro modeling of megakaryopoiesis and the identification of frailty biomarkers in older adults.
The 2025 Spring School had not only an educational dimension but also a strong integrative aspect – fostering the exchange of experiences, the establishment of collaborations, and the building of a network among PhD students, mentors, and lecturers. Thanks to the involvement of academic and clinical partners, this event marked an important step in the development of a young research community ready to conduct interdisciplinary biomedical research at the highest level.
