Report on the open lecture by Dr. M. Peter Marinkovich titled “Gene Therapy for Epidermolysis Bullosa”

On March 24, 2025, an open lecture titled “Gene Therapy for Epidermolysis Bullosa” was held in the Western Lecture Hall of the Clinical and Didactic Center. Dr. M. Peter Marinkovich, MD (Stanford University), delivered the lecture. Professor Aleksandra Lesiak (Department of Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, and Oncology at the Medical University of Łódź) organized the event.

The meeting was attended by PhD students, researchers, medical students, and enthusiasts of innovative medical solutions.

Dr. Marinkovich, a world-renowned expert in gene therapy, presented the current state of knowledge and the latest advances in treating epidermolysis bullosa using cutting-edge technologies. The lecture, delivered in English, attracted great interest and inspired further scientific discussions among participants.

The event was organized as part of the “NAWA Welcome to UMED” project, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). It allowed the university to host such a distinguished specialist and promoted its internationalization.
