On 6 October, an orientation day was held for PhD students of the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine. The event provided an opportunity to learn more about the School, available forms of support, and opportunities for scientific and professional development. The new PhD students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Research prof. Agnieszka Piastowska- Ciesielska PhD, DSc and Prof. Jakub Fichna, MD, PhD, DSc, Director of the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine, who extended their warmest wishes and welcomed the students at the beginning of this important stage of their academic journey.
During the meeting, the PhD students were introduced to the offer and activities of the National Projects Department and the International Projects Department, including opportunities for obtaining funding for research projects and developing international scientific collaborations. Information about the activities of the Doctoral Students’ Council was presented by Ms Katarzyna Ploszka, Vice-Chairperson of the Doctoral Students’ Council for the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine. The presentation also provided an opportunity to learn more about the Council’s role and the ways in which PhD students can become involved in its activities and contribute to representing the doctoral community.
The event also included time for informal integration. During a coffee break, the PhD students had the opportunity to share their first experiences, exchange ideas, and get to know one another, taking the first steps towards building a supportive academic community.
We wish all PhD students beginning their journey at the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine every success in their research, inspiring encounters and collaborations, satisfaction from their scientific work, and perseverance in achieving their ambitious goals. May this new chapter be filled with exciting challenges, personal and academic growth, and many reasons to be proud.
